BABY-Q
Baby-Q is a multimedia performance group that works collaboratively with dancers, actors, musicians, visual artists, robot designers (Destroyed Robot) and other artists.

CONCEPT
What one perceives as ups and downs: impulse, strength, and foolishness of feelings which transcend from the human body. Consider that essence itself, as a dance. We have created a stage where the satire and wit of today's society flow to its roots.

ABOUT WORK...
There is no other work that compares to that of Baby-Q. Combining the magic of the lights and the beauty of the sound, they transform the stage into a artistic masterpeice that mesmerizes the audience.

In addition, every group member contributes to the finished product. The dancers, the actors, the musicians, visual artists, engineers, and the stage artists all work together to combine their respective talents which in turn, lend to a diversified masterpiece.

Stage music is composed by one of the members, Nachiho Toyota. Taking Baby-Q's world view as a starting point, electoronica and dark ambient music are the base for the sound which transforms the stage into a three-dimensional sound extravaganza.

Also, the guest actors and the dancers combine their unique moves and rhythm to demostrate wonderful communication between eachother and give the audience a show of both beauty and drama.

One of such sketches is performed humorously and made to pinpoint modern society stereotyping. In this, the dance represents the foolishness and sad miscommunication between men and women. The show also includes performances of robots. If you

take the presumption of the man-machine theory in people, the equivalent act on stage is paralleled in the feeling of the dancers. The "junky", grotesque-looking robot, then wriggles about noisily,

is an iron object called "Destroyed Robot". "Destroyed Robot" is subject to growth and changi n every aspect of its work .

Whatever form it resembles, it directly examplifies the characteristics of Baby-Q.

The chief choreographer of Baby-Q, Yoko Higashino performs a unique dance based on emotions. In this, she retains firm body capacity and unrestricted bodily vocabulary, her every movement shows strain and corruption through intense feelings, which seem to explode from within. We are able to imagine her as a Machine doll and we can almost smell human blood and visualize material instincts through each and every frantic movement she delivers.

Somewhere in her stage floats a grotesque smell. Baby-Q uses a rich stimulus delivered to the audience through various motifswhich are demonstrated through each participant. The ever-changing, yet peculiar elements of dance derived from each member's body and transcend into a story through the aid of music, visuals and the stage setting itself.

In addtion, Baby-Q collaborates the works of many fine and actively involved artists, whose collaboration lend to a genre of entertainment, that is not limited to just (the) "Dance" category.
